2024 Sampler Blanket CAL Project! Borders Around Each Square

CWT Week 4 of 2024 Sampler Blanket CAL

THE BORDERS FOR EACH SQUARE

We're thrilled to have you back for another exciting week of our 2024 Sampler Blanket Crochet Along. We have completed all 12 squares for the Sampler Blanket and are now ready to prep them for joining. By adding borders around each individual square we are not only going to make it easier to join the squares together but we will also be creating some uniformity to the project. Each square being framed with the same color, a rich, dark brown that complements each color of square.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS BORDER

  1. It's a single crochet border that gently frames each square.

  2. It makes joining squares together smoother and easier.

  3. Brings uniformity to the project by using the same color for each frame.

  4. Ties different crochet stitches together beautifully.

YARN SELECTION

For this step, we’re sticking with our go-to, Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Merino. This yarn is perfect for its lovely sheen, soft feel, and the added bonus of being machine washable—ideal for a project that's going to get a lot of love.

Color Choice: For the border of each individual square, we're using color #03/ Rich Brown. This is a Dark color that adds a POP to the project!
