Hi guys! Welcome to another month of our 2025 Temperature-Sampler Blanket Crochet Along! We are now in March, and I can’t wait to introduce you to this month’s stitch—the Seed Stitch (also called the Linen Stitch). This stitch is a favorite of mine because it’s simple, textured, and works up beautifully!
Before we dive into the tutorial, STOP and count your stitches! This is crucial to keeping your blanket on track. By now, you should have 212 stitches in your project. If you’re off, fix it now while it’s easy—trust me, you don’t want to wait until later when it becomes a bigger issue. (More on how to fix stitch counts below!)
Check Your Stitch Count!
🎯 Target Stitch Count: 212

I count my stitches periodically and noticed after Week 2 that I was five stitches short. 😱 Thankfully, this is an easy fix!
✔️ If you’re missing fewer than 10 stitches → Gradually add increases here and there
(not all in the same spot) until you get back to 212.
✔️ If you’re off by more than 10 stitches → I highly recommend undoing your work and
figuring out where the mistake started.
🚨 Now is the time to fix this. If you push forward without correcting, you’ll regret it later. Fixing it now is annoying, sure—but waiting until your blanket turns into a wonky mess will make you want to give up entirely. We are in this together, and I’ve got your back!
Gathering Your Materials
The materials for March remain the same as January’s:
Yarn: Choose a variety of colors to represent different temperature ranges.
For instance, you might use a palette of blues for chilly temperatures and warmer shades like yellow and red for higher temps.
For this project I am recommending using a yarn that is a size 3 weight/ DK to help minimize the overall length of the final project.
Crochet Hook: Select a hook that matches your yarn weight. A G/6-4mm hook is
standard for DK weight yarn.
Scissors: Essential for cutting your yarn during color changes.
Yarn Needle: Important for weaving in yarn ends once your square is completed.
Stitch Marker: Helps mark the beginning of each row.
Printable Calendar Stitch Card: This tool is useful for tracking daily temperatures and
matching them to yarn colors.
If you’re new to the project, check out the January tutorial and set up your
Temperature Gauge.
It’s never too late to join in!

Crochet With A Loose Tension: This stitch naturally wants to work up on the tight side. Focus on working a loose stitch OR go up a crochet hook size or two to help loosen your stitch. Going up a crochet hook size will not affect the project.
