This week, we're diving into a technique that adds a lot of detail, and texture to your blanket.: the Waffle stitch. YARN SELECTION
For this project, we’re sticking with our go-to, Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Merino. This yarn is perfect for its lovely sheen, soft feel, and the added bonus of being machine washable—ideal for a project that's going to get a lot of love.
Color Choice: For Square Nine, we're using color #74/ Ash Rose. This is a redish-purple color that complements the color palette perfectly!

PATTERN INSTRUCTION:
Foundation Chain: Start by chaining 48.
Row 1: Dc in the 3rd ch from your crochet hook (skipped 2 chs count as your first dc) dc in each ch
across row. (Total 47 sts)
Row 2: ch 2 (counts as your first dc), turn,
FPdc around the next 2 sts, BPdc around the next st, FPdc around the next 3 sts,
BPdc around the next st.
Repeat to across. Ending row with 3 sts, FPdc in the first 2 sts, dc in the last st.
Row 3: ch 2 (counts as your first dc), turn, dc in the 2 BPdc sts,
FPdc in the one FPdc st, dc in each BPdc st, FPdc in the one FPdc st.
Repeat to across row.
Ending row with 3 sts, dc in the first 2 stitches and dc in the second ch of the ch 2.
Row 4: ch 2 (counts as your first dc), turn,
FPdc around the next 2 sts, BPdc around the BPdc st,
FPdc around the next 3 sts, BPdc around the next BPdc st.
Repeat to across. Ending row with 3 sts, FPdc in the first 2 sts, dc in the last st
Row 5-31: Repeat Rows 3 & 4
Ending on a row 3 repeat.
Tie off and weave in your ends.
Block the square pinning the flower/circles as well to define shapes.
