sk next 2 chs, dc in the next 2 chs (2-dc group).*
Repeat * to* across row. In the last 3 chs, sk first 2 chs, make 3 dc in the last ch.
(Total 5 1/2 shells, 6 x 2-dc groups)
Row 2: ch 3, turn, dc in the sp between the first 2 dc sts, *5 dc in the sp between the 2 dc sts,
dc in the sp between second and third dc of the next 5-dc group and in the next sp
(between the third and fourth dc).*
Repeat *to* across to the last 4 sts, make 3 dc in the sp between the last dc and turning ch.
Row 3-26: Repeat Row 2
Border:
Without tying off your work, continue on to border.
Ch 2 (counts as first dc and takes first st), dc in each st across the top of the square. In the last st make 5 dc sts to turn onto the next side of square. (1 dc to go over the ch-1 of the V st, 1 dc for the last st, 1 dc for the turning st, and 2 dc for the side of the first row).
Make 2 dc in the side of each row. In the last row make 4 dc stitches (2 for the side of that last row, one for turning st, and one for the first st of the next side).
Now working on the bottom of the work, we are making one dc around each ch and in each st across. Make 4 dc between the last 2 dc of row 1 to work your way to the last side (first counting as the last st of the side, next for the turning st, and the last 2 are the first 2 dc sts in the side of the first row).
Work 2 dc in the side of each row. In the last row, make 3 dc sts, then sl st into the second ch of the beginning ch 2 to close border.
Tie off and weave in your ends.
Block the square pinning the flower/circles as well to define shapes.
