Looking to crochet your very own Christmas Tree Skirt? You’re going to absolutely love this pattern! I kept the Vintage Crochet Christmas Tree Skirt pattern basic, straight forward, easily adjustable to make as wide as you desire. I also added a pretty detail within each panel of the skirt to elevate the look but not the complexity.

Prepare to stun people with this show stopper that will easily become a family heirloom!

Crochet Level: Beginner Friendly

Terminology: US Terminology

Materials:

  • Yarn – Size 6 weight yarn/ Super Bulky/ Super Chunky
  • For my Tree Skirt I used approximately 1,870 yds of yarn.
  • Joining panels = 80 yds yarn
  • Yarn around border = 57 yds yarn
  • Border up opening of skirt = 38 yds yarn
  • Applique = 264 yds
  • Total approximately = 2,309
  • The exact yarn that I used was Loops & Threads Cozy Wool Laine Douillette in color Fleece
  • I used 26 skeins to complete this project.
  • SUBSTITUTIONS YARN: I think the Loops & Threads Charisma yarn is a great substitute for this yarn because it looks like wool but it is actually 100% acrylic. It is thinner at a size 5 weight which means you WILL need more of it to meet dimension of your panel.
  • Crochet Hook – K/10.5 – 6.50mm
  • Embroidery Scissors
  • Yarn Needle with a Large Eye hole
  • Stitch Markers – for row counting help and for joining panels together
  • Optional: Aleene’s Quick Dry Fabric Fusion to help those woven ends from coming undone.
